Handmade clay spoon rests are cured under heat. Then, for the pattern, they are drawn with tar. Semi-precious stone powder is mixed with water and filled into the pattern. The mixture is then cured a second time at 960 degrees. Finally, a gloss varnish is sprayed on. A certain level of skill is needed to fill the pattern precisely, ensuring the colors do not run under the heat.
